December 2005

We've been extremely busy with the Dance Gallery Photos, a couple of weddings, Church's 27th Anniversary and producing Calendars for clients. The good folk at FGA Marketplace have also helped keep us busy, thank you Ps Tek Chong, Goldie and team.

Looking for Christmas Present ideas?

What about a Family Portrait? Or a Photo Mug? or a Photo Calendar or photo stickers?
We are running a Portrait Session on Sunday the 11th December from 1pm to 6pm at the Cambridge Conference Centre
This a 1 day only event.  Please call Sharon on 9276 5026 to book a time slot.

September 2005

The iEdit Workshops have been scheduled and have started again at the Cambridge Conference Centre.
We were at The Cambridge Forum for Father's Day running our mobile studio there. We produced about 20 Photo mugs for those hungry people (mainly from PCCC, thanks Kaves).

Canon brought out their latest offering to the Digital SLR world - the 5D. This is a full frame Digital SLR which should blow the competition away! (My birthday's coming up soon, so start saving up... hint hint)

August 2005

98.5 FM SonshineFM - Sunday's Photos here.

98.5FM Sonshine FM the only Good Radio Station in Perth is having their annual Radiothon weekend this week (26 to 28th), if you have listened to the Good News and the good music and believe in their 'No Greed, No Ridicule and No Hurt' statement then please support them by donating. You can do that by calling 9484 1985 in you are in Perth, otherwise donate online https://sonshinefm.ws/donation.cfm  or check out their Radiothon site, while there check out my photos from last year's Radiothon.

At P triple C, we've had another 'Live' event with over 150 people. It was called Echo Live and was a reunion from the TBC and LightHouse Camps held in July. The next 'Live' event is going to be huge with Youth Groups from a rumoured five churches invited and Jade Lewis sharing her testimony. I'm trying to get Gordon from the imports to come and jam with Naomi, man that will be one drum battle worth coming for!

Youth Alive was another huge event we just witnessed earlier this month. I hope to have some photos up soon.

We'll be running Workshop 1 on the 3rd on September at Cambridge Conference Centre with Workshop 2 a couple of weeks later on the 17th September. Please email or call us for bookings.

Photos from this year's Adrenalin - Youth Alive. unfortunately, the complimentary tickets from Joondalup Resort were seated tickets meaning   we couldn't get close to the stage so all the shots were taken with the 28 ~ 135 USM IS zoom and the Canon 20D.

Photos of P3C - Ignite Live

By the way, for the Team A guys, you've been asking about the shots from last year's Telstra Rally Australia Girls, so here they are - The Girls of Rally Australia.

OK Joe, the Girls of Rally Australia has been updated by your request.

July 2005

Winter's ending, we've had some great sunsets and lovely moon photo opportunities here in Perth.

A quick plug:
In my search for sharper images from the Canon SLRs I tried various settings and actions using PhotoShop's UnSharp Mask but was never really happy so I started trying various plug-ins. Then I came to Focal Blade, it was easy in Novice Mode and gave a lot of control ability with out the halos associated with Sharpening. So, I contacted the Plugin Site about licensing my demo version.  Well, within hours of my request, I was emailed by Harald Heim who authored the software and runs the Plugin Site! Now not only can I tell you how good the latest version of Focal Blade but I can offer our students a discounted price on this great Sharpening tool.

The Canon 20D is great but during our TBC (Youth) Camp I got my first Error 99 and the Battery Grip refused to work for a couple of days. That might have been a god thing as it reduced the weight of the camera with the 28-135 USM IS lens I was carrying most of the 4 days. Funny thing is the 300D hit its worse in terms of Error 99s at last years TBC camp. Was this the work of the evil one or simply the cameras baulking at shooting so much everyday? I shot over 1.800 photos in the 4 days!!

This site will be significantly revamped, I'm working on a few new pages and thinking of changing some of the structure. So keep visiting us.

Keep visiting us, we are rebuilding the Photo Galleries and will include some of the images from the Canon 300D  (Photos of the Imports, SonshineFM Radiothon & Youth Alive added).

New Workshop dates here.

We are planning some exciting new workshops  and they will be run at the Cambridge Conference Centre.

We will be running Digital Photography Workshops at the Cambridge Conference Centre please call Henry on 041 990 2543 or email us Workshop@iedit.com.au for enquiries or bookings.

April 2005

Wow this year's flying or is it we are getting busier? Our planned updates to this site have been on hold for a while but we will be posting the new pages on our Design & Printing samples as well as some new Photo Galleries including one on some of the weddings we have covered.

January 2005

It was still hot in Perth. After a glorious 3 weeks in Singapore, we are back in Perth. Hey! Sting is in town for a Tsunami Concert. My poor cousin Gabby had a photo opportunity with this legend and his wife Trudi but her Ricoh Digicam decided it didn't want to work. Now, I'm in her bad books for recommending and supplying the Ricoh! Well, it was the best choice at the time given budgetary constraints. Let's hope the good guys at Ricoh will sort out the camera for her before the next big star arrives :)

The last few months were full of digicams, we supplied 2 Panasonic FX 7s, and a couple of Canon IXUS models. We also got the new Canon 20D.  This is one sweet and fast camera.

I've been getting acquainted with my new Canon 300D. What a lovely camera! Haven't tried the auto modes yet been happy in Manual and Program mode. Just got to polish up my post processing, but this is so much fun.

Henry Lassiter has retired from Colorvision. Have fun Henry!

Hey! Sorry about the absence but I've been busy designing Business Cards with photos on them for some new clients.
I'll post a page of examples soon.

PMA's got all the new DigiCams! 8 MegaPixel seems to be the target with Sony, Nikon and a couple of other manufacturers launching their 8MP Prosumer cameras.

Check out the new entry level DSLRs from Canon & Nikon! Canon's 300D has been out for a couple of months and at around A$1,900 with the kit lens its got to be a winner (got my order in, thanks Lin). Nikon announced (and I picked up a brochure of) their D70 which should arrived in this part of the World in April/May with an estimated price of A$2,000 ~ A$2,400 with lens. This offering is packed with features, to me the idea of instant on and ready to shoot with 3 frames per second and up to 199 shots continuously is simply amazing! All the paparazzi will want one, Hey, even I want one! Again check out www.dpreview.com  for Phil's reviews.

Phil Askey's posted his prereview of the new Sony F828  Digital Camera. It's an amazing 8MegaPixel,
7x Optical Zoom, plus features to make me drool.
[NewsFlash] F828 disappoints: Purple Fringing and high noise levels not accepted by many buyers.

The Canon 300D started developing Err 99s and it keeps getting worse! Need to reset the camera everytime it gets it. Canon help!

Thanks to ColorVision, I-Sight and Perth Pro, we have received the ColorVision PrintFix.
After using it on an Epson 2100 and a 1270, I'm closer to creating colour matched prints, but its still not trouble free as there are so many variables involved. I'm almost convinced that I need a Mac (wash your mouth with soap, Henry). On the 2100 I found the Epson profiles to be better suited than anything I could create with the PrintFix (maybe I'm not using it well or its a faulty unit?).

Perth Royal Show - Oct 2003

The Perth Royal Show went well. After a pretty exhausting but enjoyable (apart from a couple of difficult customers) 8 solid days of 8:30am to 10:15pm. We sold hundreds of Photo Stickers as well as over 150 photo mugs. Many customers coming back for more during the show and lots of people wanting to know where we operated. We are now planning to run Photo Sessions with the Stickers & Photo Mugs at different locations around Perth and we will announce them here. We are also going to be marketing the Printers and the Photo Mug System for local Photo Minilabs and Camera shops. Please email us if you are interested.

iEdit combines with Nu Designs and enters the Perth Royal Show. We had a great time promoting our New Photo Mugs and new D2T2 Photo printers. We sold a lot of Photo Mugs and Photo Stickers to people who enjoyed their brief time posing in our 'Studio'.

We moved the Feedback button to "What people are saying about us" in iEdit Events.

Congratulations tokos & Ian Alexander.
tokos reopened under the new management of Ian & crew at the start of March.
If you find yourself at Dongara or even Geraldton, go visit tokos for some great food!
The best Crayfish and you should try Ian's deserts, they are simply to die for!

Sept 25th 2003. Wow! What a day! It was my Birthday and I had a busy day planned.  It started at 12:10am with picking George Coles from the International Airport. Spent the early morning designing & working with QuickSigns' Richard Huggins to get our Royal Show Sign. Then it was to the Showgrounds for a quick inspection of the Stall. Found the Fluoro light's cover smashed on the ground and the Light fastened to the wrong spot. A quick call to Jean at Reece's got it all fixed. Then collected the mounted Posters from Creative Matboards and I was off to pick Carissa of Hi Touch from the Domestic Airport. After a couple of circuits of the Car Park, I managed to 'make' a spot near the Qantas Terminal. As I got out of the car, I heard and saw a man on a Harley ride through pedestrians on the footpath and through the main doors of the terminal. By the time I got to the doors people were milling around and the man had parked his bike in front of the security counter was standing with his hands in the air shouting. He wore a Leather jacket which he took off and threw to the ground. He also had on a backless leather waistcoat that looked heavy. That's when the airport staff started clearing people out of the terminal. People were still entering the terminal unaware of the situation. The man said things like, "I surrender", "I'm a good man", "My parents are under threat". He took off his waistcoat and with hands still in the air knelt down and later lay spread on the ground. I fired up my trustee Sony F717 and fired off a few frames. Everyone was ushered to the carparks. I managed to find Carissa and explain what was happening. After the Police had cleared the Terminal and Carissa found her luggage, I spoke to a few reporters and that's when it went crazy as all of the reporters wanted to see my photos and the 717 became a star on all the News channels. I think Sony owes me for the massive promotion! The Police noticed the commotion and wanted to interview me. They were very polite and obligingly allowed me to keep the photos. While I was being interviewed by the Reporters, Camera crew and Police, poor Carissa had to stand and wait for me.

2003] Went to PRA's Fastrack Master Class on Glamour Photography
presented by Justin Aveling. It was run in a very relaxed manner.
Although poor Justin was feeling terribly under the weather, he soldiered on bravely.
Accolades to his lovely model Amy (I hope I spelt that right). Angelina Jolie, you've got competition.
She was as very patient with us. As usual Max & family and Rob were very helpful and friendly.
Thanks guys.

If you want a fridge Calendar with emergency phone numbers, please email us and we'll send one to you.

If you want to design a new business card and get it printed at very competitive rates give us a call.

2002 - Just before Christmas, we purchased a ColorVision Spyder to calibrate all our monitors (CRT & LCD).
Henry from ColorVision was extremely friendly and helpful. But we got slugged with a hefty Import Duty
(nothing to do with Colorvision). I have had a trouble-free time with the Spyder and the Calibration Software
(OptiCal). Now if only I can get the profiles for the Heidelberg printers!

If you're looking for a Calibrating tool for your computer monitors, don't go past ColorVision's Spyder.
http://www.colorvision.com/
or email Henry Lassiter and tell him Henry of iEdit recommended the Spyder.
You can also get them from PRA if you're here in Perth.
