IEDIT Events

Iedit was formed to assist people to understand and maximise the use of Digital Imaging. This covers the use of Digital Cameras, Scanners and digital graphics. Iedit aims to provide seminars, workshops, training and consulting in the area of Digital Imaging together with Photo Safaris, Image Library Services and full Photographic Services. The 2~3hr Seminar
This is a very high level overview of Digital Imaging. It describes the Digital Process, explains the jargon, covers Photography Tips & Traps, advises on equipment and includes a live demonstration on photo editing. Cost is $49 per person inclusive of GST. If you are a pensioner or a full time student ask for the Concession rate. Groups of 2 or more people is at $39 pp.

        The next Seminar will be:

At the Cambridge Conference Centre tentatively on Saturday the 14th of January. Registration starts at 9:00am, seminar from 9:30am to 12 noon. Bookings must be made by Friday 4pm, please note this workshop may be moved so please call for bookings.

Tentatively, there may be a Workshop on Thursday the 19th from 6pm to 9:30pm, please call 9276-5026 for bookings and more information.

2 x 3.5 hr Workshops

  • Workshop One "Take Better Photographs" covers Photographic Basics  (Composition, Lighting, Depth of Field, how to take a better photograph), it includes 3 practical shoots (Photo Assignments) including a Studio Portrait session. This workshop is aimed to improve your camera / photography skills. Henry shares the wealth of over 30 years experience in photography with tips and traps, and gems that are economical alternatives to expensive professional equipment. Digital cameras afford the participants to get constructive critique of their assignments at the end of the workshop. Digital cameras can be loaned for the workshop. 

    Includes:

    • The differences between Traditional Film and Digital Photography 
    • Equipment and Accessories (how you can save money with our tips)
    • Setting up the Photo -  Framing, Lighting, Depth of Field and Composition
    • Tips and Traps
    • 3 practical shoot sessions (Outdoor, Indoor and a Studio Portrait session or a Studio Product Shoot)

  • Workshop Two "Make Photos Better" covers Post Processing (Photo Editing) with hands on exercises on Windows based PCs (or Macintoshes if requested). This workshop teaches the basics in Photoshop, layers and how to use some of the filters. There are a set of exercises to show colour correction, image manipulation, montage techniques, enhancements and printing. Time allowing, participants may be able to take back a printed portrait of their work. 

Includes:

  • File Transfers and Transfer Equipment
  • Software (with exercises in Adobe PhotoShop)
  • Colour Correction
  • The use of Layers and History
  • How to make a bad Picture Good
  • Resizing, Copying, Pasting and using Images in Applications
  • Enhancing a Photo 
  • Printing - Printers, Paper, inks and settings.

    Cost $149 per person, or $139 per person for 2 people, with discounts  for concession card holders.

  • If both sessions are booked at once there is a reduced cost of $280 per person or $520 for 2 people, if the Workshops are booked at the Seminar the cost of the seminar will be deducted from the Workshop fees. Morning & Afternoon Teas as well as a light lunch will be provided. The concession rate is $250 for both sessions.
